The Mountain in Summer
The plateau of the Rosskopf/Monte Cavallo ski and recreation area at around 2,000 m above sea level is equally beautiful in summer. Here you can enjoy the alpine and mountain landscape with beautiful panoramic views from the Zillertal Alps over the Dolomites to the Stubai Alps. In addition, there are a number of hikes and tours on offer, ranging from the easy to challenging. The Rosskopf plateau is also ideal for cycling tours. And, when you need to refuel for further adventures, head to the Sternhütte for the finest South Tyrolean delicacies.
A real treat in the mountains!
that is guaranteed to be a highlight, especially for the whole family, is Rossy Park with its llama trekking. Only a short distance away from the Rosskopf cable car station, this small petting zoo features many mountain animals such as rabbits and goats who enjoy petting.
You can visit the llamas at Rosskopf llama trekking and even take one on a hike (advance booking required).

Panorama Mountain Coaster
Look forward to a new attraction on the Rosskopf. With the summer toboggan run you can whizz down from Sterzing's local mountain into the valley at speeds of up to 40 km/h. Surrounded by a spectacular mountain panorama, the track takes you up to 1,303 m in the direction of Sterzing. A unique experience for the whole family - directly at Chalet Stern.
The Mountain in Winter
The magnificent snowy landscape of the Rosskopf ski and recreation area is perfect for hikes or jumping on skis and rushing past the scenery. The large ski area at the Rosskopf is skiing fun at its best! Children even have their own beginner area and the Sterzing ski school offers many services for beginners and advanced skiers as well as a ski rental.
Those who don't want to ski and would rather enjoy tobogganing will want to check out the toboggan run in the recreational area. With 10 km of slopes, it is the longest illuminated natural track in Italy! On Tuesday and Friday evenings, you can even go tobogganing at night when the track is floodlit until midnight. The cable cars run from 7 pm to 10 pm on those nights and the hosts of the alpine and mountain huts are ready to spoil you with culinary highlights from South Tyrolean cuisine.
hiking enthusiasts will also get their money's worth at the Rosskopf. A 6 km cleared trail is available to explore. With all these activities on offer, it will definitely not be difficult for you to take a break from everyday life.
